At Stanford’s Hopkins Marine Station, I interned under Dr. Fiorenza Micheli, dissecting sea urchins to study their DNA and spawning behavior. With exploding populations devastating California’s kelp forests, my work contributed to understanding how these urchins reproduce and what it means for the future of our marine ecosystems.
