how flow affects the survival of coral replantations
Working with head of Cohen Lab and head of Cenedese Lab to discover the influence of water flow in coral restoration success.
At the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Claudia Cenedese and Dr. James McElwaine used their laboratory rotating table to perform experiments and performed Coral Model experiments at different Reynolds numbers and using AIV (Altimetric Imaging Velocimetry) Experiments led to the discovery of the critical effect of Water Flow and placement and morphology of corals to maximize their chances of surviving
I Presented this discovery at Association of Marine Laboratories of the Caribbean (AMLC) conference, where PhD’s and Marine Biologists welcomed the idea to further test in their restorations.
I am currently working on the manuscript for my first peer reviewed paper.
